Stream to Gunclub Social with Restream

Add Gunclub Social as a Custom RTMP channel in Restream, connect your Restream account once, and the title you set in Restream becomes the title of your Gunclub Social live stream and of the video post it is saved as.

1. Before you start

  • A Gunclub Social account that is allowed to go live. If the Go live page says you don't have permission to broadcast, ask Gunclub Social support to enable live streaming on your account.
  • A Restream account.

Restream sends us your video but not your title. Connecting your Restream account in step 3 is what lets us read the title. You can skip it and still stream; your broadcast will just be untitled.

2. Add Gunclub Social to Restream

  1. Sign in to Gunclub Social and open app.gunclub.social/live/broadcast. Keep RTMP selected.
  2. In Restream, add a channel and choose Custom RTMP.
  3. Copy Server from the Gunclub Social page into Restream's RTMP URL field.
  4. Copy Stream key from the Gunclub Social page into Restream's stream key field.
  5. Save the channel and make sure it is switched on.

Your server and key stay the same from one broadcast to the next, so you only do this once. The stream key is shown only when it is created. If you no longer have it, use Rotate key on the Go live page to get a new one, then paste it into Restream again. Rotating stops the old key working.

3. Connect your Restream account

  1. On app.gunclub.social/live/broadcast, press Connect Restream.
  2. Restream asks you to let Gunclub Social read your account profile and your stream details. Press Allow.
  3. You land back on the Go live page with Restream connected and your Restream username.

Gunclub Social only reads. It can't start or stop your streams, change your channels, or post anything to Restream.

4. Set your title and go live

  1. In Restream, set the title for your stream before you go live.
  2. Start streaming to Restream as usual.
  3. Within a minute or so of the broadcast starting on Gunclub Social, it takes your Restream title. When the broadcast ends, the video post uses the same title.

The title is read once, as the broadcast starts. Changing it in Restream after you are live does not change it on Gunclub Social.

5. Disconnecting

Press Disconnect next to Restream connected on the Go live page. Your Restream channel keeps working; your broadcasts just stop picking up the Restream title. You can also remove Gunclub Social's access from your Restream account settings.

6. Troubleshooting
